In honor of this being the 5,000th Parkside High Instagram post, we thought we would do something interesting for this post. You see a picture that is currently hanging in the Parkside principal's office. These are the 2 designs that Jostens Ring company created for Parkside when they were trying to decide on their logo in 1975 (yes, this is the 49th school year for Parkside and we will celebrate our 50th year during the 2025-2026 school year). Thankfully Parkside went with the left logo, as it clearly shows a strong looking RAM that just so happens to be in the shape of the letter P for Parkside (if you ever see this logo with it facing the other direction you know it was done incorrectly because the RAM is no longer in the shape of the letter P). The one on the right was rejected since it looked more like a humble goat, or even a donkey. We are very happy that Mr. Tony Sarbanes, first Parkside principal and Parkside historian who has shared this information with later principals, and Parkside made the decision to go with our P RAM logo. A strong looking RAM that signifies the strength and resilience of Parkside High School and how we want to make a positive impact in the world.

Thanks to Mr. Grande for displaying recent classwork from his US History classes. Here, we see work on "Letters from the Trenches of World War 1" and "Muckrakers of the Progressive Era."
